Cosmopolitan Sold, MGM to Take Over Operations, in $5.65B Deal

New York private equity firm Blackstone Group announced yesterday it will be selling The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in a $5.65 billion deal, with MGM Resorts International taking over hotel operations. MGM will purchase the resort’s operations for $1.625 billion, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal , and will enter a long-term lease with the new owners, which include Panda Express billionaires Andrew and Peggy Cherng, as well as real estate investment firm Stonepeak.

Delta Urges Other Airlines to Share ‘No-Fly’ Lists

With a troubling number of incidents involving unruly passenger behavior aboard US airlines and at airports, carriers have banned hundreds of passengers since the start of the pandemic. Delta Air Lines alone says it has put 1,600 passengers on its ‘no fly’ list, 600 of whom the carrier has referred to the Federal Aviation Administration. Now the airline wants other airlines to share their lists well, in a bid to create a national database of banned travelers.
