US Hotel Demand Nearing Full Recovery in 2022

Demand for hotel rooms in the US will near full recovery in 2022, according to the upgraded forecast just released by STR and Tourism Economics. In addition, the average daily rate is also expected to reach near 2019 levels on a nominal basis. The research, presented at the 43rd Annual NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, also predicts revenue per available room, a measure of hotel performance, to be fully recovered in 2023.

Mesa Air Group Launches Drone Delivery

Mesa Air Group, Inc., the holding company of regional air carrier Mesa Airlines, has signed an agreement with aerospace technology company Flirtey to order four delivery drones, with an option to order an additional 500 aircraft. With the agreement, Mesa becomes the first scheduled airline to launch drone delivery in the US.
