Because COVID-19 spreads via aerosols that can float in the air for minutes to hours. Although there is currently no commercially available way to measure the presence of COVID-19 in air, I’ve written about how measuring carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) concentrations can act as a useful proxy for COVID-19 infection risk.
