“Earning the CPCE designation is something every event professional should strive to obtain. The CPCE is a nationally recognized designation that is a mark of excellence for catering and event professionals. Anyone intending to make a career in this industry needs this designation to move their career forward.”

“Earning the CPCE is not as easy as one may think. I took a sample test and was surprised to find out how much I did not know – but thought I did – about being a certified professional in catering and events. Studying for this exam allowed me to grow in my profession – gaining knowledge about event infrastructure from who is the audience/attendee, what is the goal for the event, organization, budget, venue, media, and finances. My CPCE designation helped me expand my knowledge and my career. I am proud to be a Certified Professional in Catering and Events.”

“As a long-time member of the industry, I wanted to give my career a boost. I looked into college courses and found they required some things I really couldn’t afford... a couple of years’ time and thousands of dollars. The CPCE designation was a possible accreditation supported by NACE.”

“The CPCE designation now qualifies me to employers, guests, and peers as an accomplished member of the catering industry who has the passion and drive to become one of the best.”

“It feels pretty cool the first time you see those letters after your name.”

Gary Baumann, CPCE

“The CPCE designation changed my thinking about catering and events from the logistics and financial aspects, but also how to prepare and provide the correct flow for an event. Studying for and taking the exam took me from what I thought I knew and elevated me to an expert in my field.”

“From both client and employer perspectives, CPCE showed them my commitment to being the expert in catering and events and providing my clients with confidence in producing their events. Whether a meeting for 20, a wedding for 250, a gala for 500, or a conference for 1000, being a CPCE provided all the knowledge I needed and skills in how to create, produce, and execute these events.”

“The CPCE designation was and still is a career-high for me as I showcase my knowledge daily and still refer to my study guide, flashcards, and study group when needed.”

Michael Rabe, CPCE

“I can honestly say that being a CPCE has helped me tremendously in the growth of my business and accomplishments that I attained throughout my career.”

“As a CPCE, I was challenged to keep up with industry standards and innovations, and it drove the growth of my company from doing $500,000 a year in catering to becoming a $4 million per year company.”

“When corporate clients saw the CPCE designation on my card, they would tell me that I immediately stood out from other bidders. Social clients would be impressed as well. My CPCE designation gave them the reason and understanding as to why I seemed so knowledgeable about how I was going to make their dream event come to life in a most memorable way, and that they could trust me!”

“When I first decided to earn my CPCE, like most NACE members, I was extremely intimidated. But I was also energized by knowing that earning my CPCE would open the door to many future opportunities."

“Once awarded my designation, my annual bonus was increased to account for earning this certification. It also made way for me to become a mentor to two employees in our organization, one in Corporate and one in Radio, both with event planning responsibilities.  Earning my CPCE has propelled me to become a continuing education advocate and let me sit on National NACE committees."

“My only regret is that I did not challenge myself to test for this certification sooner.”
