Horwath renames China hotel events
Horwath HTL has rebranded its hotel conferences in China. The former ‘China Hotel & Development Conferences’, which are held each year in Beijing and Shanghai, are being relaunched as CHAT, which stands for ‘China Hotel & Tourism’.
The first CHAT conference will take place in Beijing in March 2013, and will focus on the usual topics of hotel development and investment, looking at financing, development models, new brands and construction, with STR Global providing updates on hotel performance data. Following in September 2013, CHAT Shanghai will focus on the asset management and operational sides of the industry, and will include information from Horwath HTL’s latest China Hotel Industry Study.
“We are very excited to present the new format to the market. We have felt for some time that hotel development and asset management and operating issues are too important to shoehorn into one event. Having two events allows us to not only focus on each area to give them the depth and quality they deserve, but means we can cover two really important hotel markets, Beijing and Shanghai in the same year. It didn’t seem right to do one or the other and force our clients to choose, this way we get the best of both worlds,” said Nigel Summers, Director of Horwath HTL Greater China.
CHAT Beijing will take place from 26-28 March at the Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace, and CHAT Shanghai will run from 11-12 September at the Hyatt on the Bund.
