While the rest of Florida experiences some winter (even if it’s just mildly chilly), South Florida exists in a near-constant summer. The Esplanade Plaza This shopping plaza is set upon 1,100 feet of waterfront on Smokehouse Bay and encompasses nearly 50,000 square feet of fine dining, select retailers, specialty stores, and commercial offices. It also houses the 77-boat-slip Esplanade Marina and a bayside sunset amphitheater. Restaurants include CJs on the Bay, Chop 239, and Mango’s Dockside Bistro.

NIGHTLIFE

The nights have the sounds of live music, dancing, karaoke, and fun. After dark entertainment on the island is improving with new nightclubs and restaurants featuring music and dance parties regularly. Live music venues are limited, but more are on the way.

SPORTS FANS

Some sports fans may want to head to Miami, home to the Miami Marlins, the Miami Heat, and the Miami Dolphins.
