There are three travel seasons in Cancún: the high season, the low season, and the shoulder season. Each one has perks and downfalls. It is up to the meeting planner to decide the best time to visit Cancún to fit their type of meeting.

Cancún High Season – Cancún’s high season typically stretches from mid-December until the end of March. December brings the holiday crowds, seeking warmer weather for Christmas and New Years’. In March, you have the rowdy spring breaker tearing across the beaches and partying in the resorts. The crowds are large, and the prices are high.

Cancún Low Season – Cancún’s low season runs from June through October. It’s the primary rainy season in Mexico, and the days are hot, heavy, and humid, with frequent downpours and unpredictable weather. It’s not raining all the time. There will be fewer people and lower prices.

Cancún Shoulder Season – The best time is during shoulder season. April, May, November, and the beginning of December, will have sparse crowds, pleasant weather, and reasonable rates. Because there are fewer crowds, there will be plenty of places to stay. If you want to enjoy the beach in relative peace and go out to eat without an hour’s wait, book your trip to Cancún during one of these months.

The optimum time to visit Cancún is for weather is from December to the end of March. This time frame is the high season, where crowds are larger, and prices are higher. You’ll experience near-perfect weather.

If you want to visit when there are fewer people and the prices are lower, visit during the shoulder season of April, May, and the beginning of December.

The season for hurricanes starts at the beginning of June and lasts until the end of November. During these six months, August and October have had the most storms. When you visit Cancún during the hurricane season, the watches and warnings need to be heeded. You will need to adhere to all the warnings and evacuations as they are issued.  Also, the best thing you can do is to purchase trip insurance. If your travel is canceled or changed due to storm activity, you’ll be covered.  With the hurricane season comes rain, but it often appears as just a passing shower, allowing you to get on with your activities.

  • Maya Museum of Cancún – This museum protects one of the country’s archaeological collections of the Mayan culture. It includes pieces from various Mayan sites of Quintana Roo, Palenque, Chichen Itza, and Comalcalco, among other places. The museum’s first room is the archeology of Quintana Roo, the second room has shown different phases of the Mayan civilization, and the third room has temporary exhibitions.
  • The Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA) is located at the National Marine Park of Cancún and Isla Mujeres. There are more than 500 sculptures installed on the seabed from four to ten meters deep. There are also three galleries: Manchones Gallery, Isla Mujeres, where the sculptures are located 8 meters. (26 ft.) Deep; Punta Nizuc Gallery and Punta Sam Gallery, both in Cancún, with sculptures at a depth of 4 meters. (13 ft.) Deep.

Arts and Culture – A trip to Cancún cannot be complete without understanding its rich heritage. Why Is Cancún Appealing for a Meeting?
