in CONVERSATION - Dragonfly and Green Route Africa

With South Africa having proved itself to be one the top incentive travel destinations, we caught up with Yolanda Woeke VP Sales & Marketing, and Kerry Roos Director Incentives and Travel,to find out why they think it is performing so well in this sector, and how they feel about working with inVOYAGE as one of the main partners for Cape Town 2023.

“South Africa has an enormous amount to offer as an incentive destination. There are so many iconic experiences to be had, such as seeing the big five on safari through the Greater Kruger area, whale watching in the crystal-clear waters round the Cape, and exploring the vast landscapes of the majestic mountains and serene vineyards”, says Yolanda.

“The tourism infrastructure and technology has made massive advancements in recent years, with world class luxury hospitality venues and experiences more widely available than ever before.

Dragonfly Africa / Green Route Africa are delighted to be partnering with inVOYAGE for Cape Town 2023. For our mother city - Cape Town - to have been chosen by an exclusive and established brand such as inVOYAGE as the host city for their incentive travel event tells us that South Africa has been recognised as one of the world’s top luxury destinations.

Kerry Roos

Kerry told us: “We have been working with inVOYAGE right from its inception and have seen first-hand the benefit of this unique networking event. It is one of the best platforms to get one-on-one exposure to clients and suppliers.

“Dragonfly and Green Route have been in the tourism industry for over 40 years, the majority of which has been spent growing the inbound conference and incentive markets. We have a strong, established brand, and pride ourselves on understanding every nuance of our customers’ requirements.

“In addition to ensuring that our customers have the very best experiences, we have placed social responsibility at the top of our agenda. Our core values and philosophy centre around contributing to the community and local environments through, for example, local women’s empowerment programmes, schools and hospitals.

Yolanda Woeke

“Yolanda feels that in the future we will see far more of this type of immersive travel. Visitors are no longer simply wanting to visit a destination or enjoy a reward trip, they want to experience the people and thoroughly absorb the culture. That is why, for us, it is crucial that we understand our customers and get a sense of what works best for them, and the inVOYAGE platform enables us to do exactly that.

“I think that people want to not only visit a destination, but also its people. South Africa is an incredibly diverse country, which gave rise to its name, ‘the Rainbow Nation’. Having a guest leave our destination feeling like they have been spoiled with the luxury, but also, having the opportunity to learn about its people and its unique culture is the ultimate incentive. South Africa will always lead the way with being an aspirational destination and we cannot wait to show it off to all inVoyagers in 2023.

“Our team is highly experienced in this sector and we are all passionate about the destinations we work with. We Love South Africa and believe that everyone should come and see for themselves what a unique, diverse and truly special place it is.”
