Cebu and the Philippines is looking to build its stake in the lucrative global MICE market. Philippine MICE Con 2011 began today, receiving 424 international delegates as hotels and other travel and tourism firms exhibit the Philippines as MICE destination worth considering. Delegates have been hosted in top branded hotel rooms, and will attend local tours, plenary sessions and networking events during the three-day conference at the Cebu International Convention Centre (pictured). Industry experts told the Cebu Daily News that in order to raise it profile, the destination needs to become more visible in the market place, establish long lasting personal relationships with MICE markets, and empower and educate associations that are responsible for the continuous bidding and promotion.
