No Vacancy, one of Asia Pacific’s leading accommodation industry conferences, is heading to Thailand with its first Southeast Asian event in Bangkok on 7 June, the day before the start of the 2011 Thailand Travel Mart+.
Founder Martin Kelly, who also runs the TRAVELtech conference, said he decided to bring No Vacancy to Thailand because it’s “probably the most dynamic tourism market in southeast Asia” yet has been overlooked by conference producers.
“All the events seem to be going to Singapore, but Thailand is a great country and I think it offers good potential for a forward looking accommodation conference such as No Vacancy,” Kelly said.
He added that event will have a “strong local market focus, great speakers, a fast-paced, issued-based programme and excellent networking”.
The conference, which has the themes will be Distribution, Innovation, Internet, Marketing and Technology, and will feature case studies, industry performance benchmarking, design updates, an examination of key markets, as well as sessions on search, loyalty and digital marketing. The overall aim is to enhance delegates’ sales, marketing and yield management strategies.
“We will be looking at the key elements of running a successful accommodation business, whether it’s a hotel or website,” Kelly said. “The internet is an extremely important part of that, as is getting the right balance in terms of distribution and pricing.”
The programme will be announced in the last week of March, when bookings will also open.
