This year’s PATA Travel Mart from 16-19 September has been sold out.
The event taking place at Hyderabad International Convention Centre will have over 300 sellers and 374 registered qualified buyers.
“As many as 171 qualified buyers – or 46% of the total – are first-timers to the Mart, as a result of active nominations initiated by our PTM2008 hosts and the PATA India Chapter,” said Sheila Leong, PATA Director – Events.
Not surprisingly, India will provide the largest buyer contingent, with strong growth from Chinese buyers, ahead of next year’s PTM in Hangzhou.
PATA said Europeans continue to dominate the Mart’s broad geographic buyer mix, accounting for about 38% of registrations. Asian, Gulf and North American buyers follow, with the Pacific and African buyers combining for about 10% of the total. Former PATA Chairman and Executive General Manager International (Eastern) for Tourism Australia, Richard Beere (pictured right) said: “PATA Travel Mart has rebuilt itself with a very strong collection of special interest and specific segment buyers, and as such it provides a very unique opportunity to target industry sectors or markets.”
