Travel Trends of 2023

Hello! I’m Tina Brockway, one of the Vacation Advisors here at Fox World Travel. Having been an advisor with Fox since 2017, I have seen many different travel trends over the years. Towards the end of 2022, we saw the world open back up to travelers after almost 3 years of travel restrictions.

Combining this new travel freedom with the pent-up desire to get out & see the world has led to new travel trends for this year. Read along as I talk about the most popular travel trends of 2023!

1) Exotic Destinations

After the past few years of limited travel, a desire to explore unique and exotic destinations has grown amongst travelers. Jetting off to destinations many people only dream of visiting is becoming reality for many! Whether you want to spend the day with Giant Tortoises in the Galapagos Islands, ride camels around the pyramids in Egypt, admire the cherry blossoms in Japan, or watch lion cubs play on an African safari, the exotic destinations of the world are out there waiting for you!

2) The Rise of different European Destinations

Everyone loves the European classics, Italy, Spain, Germany, and so on. But recently, there has been a shift in travel across the pond. More and more travelers are wanting to discover the underrated hidden gems of Europe and we’re here for it! Some of these gems include Portugal, Croatia, Hungary, Malta, & lesser-known Greek Islands such as Paros or Ios.

3) Branching out from the typical Mexico Destinations

Love vacationing in Mexico but wanting to try something new? There is so much more to Mexico than just Cancun/Riviera Maya, Cabo San Lucas, and Puerto Vallarta! On the Pacific side, Ixtapa & Huatulco are two cities that offer a more authentic, less touristy Mexico experience. If you’re wanting to stay on the Gulf side but still want something different from Cancun, check out Isla Holbox! Just north of Cancun, Isla Holbox is a car free island that offers a laid-back vibe and a chance to see whale sharks!

4) Australia & New Zealand

Australia & New Zealand were both locked down for so long during the pandemic that travel there was impossible. Now that their borders are open, travelers are itching to visit these bucket list destinations! Whether you’re wanting to explore these picturesque countries on your own or with a guided group, our advisor can help get you there.
