As you check out the tool for yourself we thought we would share some tips that you might find helpful.

• Enter only 1 attendee if you are looking for data that is per attendee impact.
• If you want data for a specific action only select that action to get the data whether it is per attendee or for the total number of attendees.

Example: For example, a recent 3,000-person event moved from a print to digital program, through the tool, I learned this action alone saved 591,000 liters of water, which is enough to fill 1,950 bathtubs!

During planning you may want to see your options by doing a comparison. Here’s an example:

Example: Let’s say you are planning a 1-day event for 500 people and have the ability to either:

• Serve vegetarian options over beef options, or
• Provide attendees with free public transportation passes

You can pull up the My Event Footprint tool:

• Type in “1” event day and “500” people
• Select “Take public transportation to your hotel/event” to see this impact
• Then select “Choose a vegetarian option over beef for one meal”
• Compare the data to both options

By doing this, you’ll see that choosing a vegetarian meal saves more emissions and water and therefore has a larger impact! This will help you to make decisions with bigger impact if you can’t do everything on your list.
