ERA Regional Airline Conference successfully returns, bringing European aviation community together again

John Santurbano, MUAC; Robert Campbell-Smith, Hibernian Airlines; Walter Rootliep, KLM; and Monika Wiederhold, Amadeus IT Group.

The event comes after a long two-year hiatus, having postponed the conference in 2020 following the emergence of COVID-19. Hence, for many delegates, this was the first opportunity to reconnect with fellow ERA colleagues, make new contacts, exchange ideas and do business after years of change, difficulty and isolation.

ERA (European Regions Airline Association) hosts its highly anticipated Regional Airline Conference in the archipelago of Malta, 30–31 March. Providing opportunities for co-operation across the entire aviation industry, ERA’s membership is unique, comprising of airlines, airports, manufacturers, suppliers and airport service providers.

This week, ERA welcomed delegates to the vibrant and historic island of Malta for its first major event of the year, the Regional Airline Conference. Delivering a unique blend of business networking opportunities and stimulating conference sessions, the high-profile event provided an opportunity for its members to hear from industry experts and influential figures from across the European air transport industry.

Montserrat Barriga, Director General, ERA, said: “A key component of ERA is providing the opportunity for collaboration among members. Delivering a platform for the European aviation community to network and build mutual beneficial partnerships, while joining our resources for the common good and debating issues impacting our industry, is unparalleled. Whilst we acknowledge it is by no means business as usual right now during these incredibly difficult times for Ukraine, Europe and the world, we are so pleased that after two long years, we have been able to reschedule our prestigious Regional Airline Conference in Malta and reconnect as a community.”
