Beach Party Theme | Sun, Surf, and Sand on Amelia Island

When our clients landed on the beach front of Amelia Island, a fabulous beach party theme went hand in hand with the venue’s spectacular views. Soft ambient lighting from string lights to complement the setting sun. Teals and pinks to play up the upscale yet laid back vibe of the island. Fun, breeze-friendly décor, relaxing entertainment, fresh seafood, and tropical drinks. It all set the scene for not only the opening party but the entire conference!

A BEACH PARTY THEME TO REMEMBER

Every beach is unique. From coast to coast, the U.S. is lined with fabulous ocean views and rolling waves. Naturally, every beach party theme should be as unique and interesting as the beach where the event is hosted!

The Just Right! team kept that in mind when we started helping to plan the opening reception on the striking Fernandina Beach. We wanted to present a beach party that could only be found there. Every detail needed to go with the look and feeling of the area… a classy and upscale town with a relaxed beach vibe.

THE CHALLENGES

Beach party themes have built-in challenges. You are fighting the same elements you want to enjoy…sun, surf, and sand! The first and foremost item to check off your list is to review the tides chart and see how far in the water level rises before laying out your floorplan. It would be a shame to invite guests out to a party up to their ankles in water!

The next challenge to overcome is the sand. Setting equipment on sand is no easy task. Our load-in took three times longer since we had to use a forklift to slowly transfer equipment from the load-in point down the beach to our event site.

The weather was our last task to defeat! The sun, a constant, shining source of heat, can threaten heat stroke and melting of products if not careful. Afternoon rain—a staple of Florida—can ruin your load-in even if rain isn’t predicted during your event. The wind is another firm master in how you should plan out your décor, as you don’t want it to blow away before your guests can enjoy it.

THE OUTCOME

Once thoughtful planning and a bit of creativity helped us overcome the elements, our beach party theme was set right in time for guests to enjoy a breathtaking sunset. The beach party went into full swing! Our final scene was vibrant and luxurious, filled with classic beach touches brought up a notch to fit right in with the host destination. There is nothing better than being handed a delicious fruity cocktail as you gaze over the ocean at a pink and orange sky with your toes squishing in the sand and the wind blowing in your hair.

Weather was on our side, and we were treated to a wonderful Florida night. I enjoy nothing more than watching people see the gift of nature’s most beautiful landscapes while being offered a delightful reception atmosphere! Smiles lazed across faces one after the other as guests came down to experience the full effect of the occasion.

The next time you are planning a beach party theme, remember it is not just a beach party…it’s YOUR beach, your unique environment, your special vision. Every beach, every client, every occasion is special, and if you treat it as such, you will have an affair to remember for years to come! You will have many environmental challenges to overcome, but it will be worth it when your sun, surf, and sand dream are brought to life by the ocean breeze itself.
