Launch of the Destination Management Organization of Rome by January 2023

The news was applauded by the President of CBRTeL, Stefano Fiori.

The Destination Management Organization (DMO) of Rome will be launched by January 2023: the announcement was made during the annual meeting of the Rome & Lazio Convention Bureau, by the councilor for tourism, sport and major events of the Municipality of Rome, Alessandro Onorato.

This news was applauded by the President of CBRTeL, Stefano Fiori who added: “2022 marked the return to the same numbers as 2019 in terms of events and congresses: foreign customers are returning, who have already planned for 2023 and 2024, and in particular the Americans who have even prepaid events for 2025 as proof of a full relaunch of our meeting industry. And the DMO opens a new season dedicated to collaboration with local authorities.” Fiori then outlined a brief summary of CBRe's activity: from organizational successes such as the IGTM (International Golf Travel Market) last October in Rome, the main golf tourism marketplace with 700 specialized foreign buyers, to winning partnerships with the Lazio Region and Rome Capital, such as the operation in the automotive segment, "Lazio on the Road".

Promotion also mentioned by the Councilor for Tourism and Local Authorities of the Lazio Region, Valentina Corrado: “In the 20 months of my mandate I have aimed to consolidate the synergy between companies and institutions with targeted and shared strategies. Together, we have implemented the measure to relaunch the regional tourist destination "More nights, more dreams. + Experience", providing discounts for places of great tourist interest for young holders of the Lazio Youth Card and, moreover, shared marketing and communication activities in Italy and abroad.”

And the Councilor for Tourism, Sport and Major Events of the Municipality of Rome, Alessandro Onorato, also focused on the successful public-private team game: "This year, from April to the end of November alone, Rome recorded over 17, 5 million visitors, also thanks to major sporting and musical events. As proof of a brand that always boasts a strong appeal and for which, in early 2023, we will finally launch the DMO Rome which, in a small percentage, will also benefit from resources deriving from the tourist tax.” An operational tool that will be able to take advantage of the enhancement of air connectivity at Fiumicino, with the new flights to Mexico, India, South Korea. Then there is the challenge of Expo 2030 for which, as highlighted by the plenipotentiary minister, Giuseppe Scognamiglio: "Infrastructural investments are planned for 10 billion euros, with an estimated return on revenues of around 50 billion euros."
