“Teamwork” and “family” are two words you’ll find in Stova’s word cloud, built from the staff’s anonymous report submitted to Great Place To Work’s Trust Index survey in October of 2021. This is important for a few reasons; not only for employee morale, but how these two words help navigate how employee satisfaction evolves into innovative, high-end, and cutting-edge technology for our clients.

It is with our utmost honor to share that Stova is now Certified™ by Great Place to Work®. The prestigious award is based entirely on what current employees say about their experience working at Stova. This year, 99% of employees said it’s a great place to work – 40% higher than the average U.S. company.

I’ve personally been with Stova for less than a year, joining the team in January 2021. My own experience with every member from leadership to my direct teammates has been nothing short of phenomenal, and the Word Cloud above encompasses the overwhelming opinion of our company culture. We all love it here, and because we love it here, our solutions for clients have hit astronomical highs.

We spoke with three members of our team this week to ask their opinions on company culture and why Stova is a great place to work.

A good company has good people. They go to work, they do their jobs, and they do it the best they can. A great company has great people, from the top, all the way down, who are genuinely excited about what they do and who they work for. One thing that our team found across the board during interviews, was that no person was above any other. Our account managers, human resource staff, contractors, marketing staff, leadership, and developers all play significant roles in the organization, and after each event hosted, our Teams channels are filled with encouragements, shout-outs, and stories – stories of our lives, of our solutions for clients, of babies and pets and what we ate for lunch that day. It might be a time where most work remotely, but the team is closer than ever.

Remember in college there were two types of group projects: the ones you hated doing because you knew you were going to be stuck doing all of the work, and the ones you were looking forward to because you were able to choose your group partners. Stova only has great teammates, and because of this, Stova becomes an extension of your team when you choose us as your event tech provider. We have fun, but we are completely serious about your event and your event goals. Premier events play here for a reason.

Brittney, an account manager with Stova who has been with the company for about a year, said that her favorite moment with the team comes weekly. Every Friday (or Monday!), the account manager’s channel is filled with supportive GIFs, jokes, and encouraging words, whether they need it to get through a challenging week up ahead or had a great work week behind them. Working remotely can be draining on any person; it can be hard to continue to be innovative and think of new ways to provide solutions, but the developers and account managers communicate freely, bouncing ideas off of each other and picking each other up if there’s ever a bad day in the space. The main goal for every member is to ensure our clients have an amazing event.

“You rarely hear an account manager say no to a client’s idea,” Brittney said, “we love thinking up exciting, new ways that might break the barriers of virtual events.”

Michael, a senior mobile application developer working with Stova for the last 6 years, echoed Brittney’s sentiments. He says that Stova’s encouraging environment allows for creativity, innovation, and flexibility to implement his best work. What was Michael’s favorite moment with the team thus far? “It’s hard to pick just one,” he said with a bright smile. He then shared that, while he currently works from home, one of the most exciting times for him was when he finally made it to one of Stova’s legendary holiday parties several years ago out of our home base in Frederick, Maryland.

It’s important to note one of the other words embodied in our word cloud – leadership.

Michael and Brittney both spoke about how leadership communicates with them and the rest of the Stova team. With weekly meetings to keep all departments on the right track, all employees have access to leadership when they need it. But, the real beauty is, that leadership feels the same about every member of the team.

Carl Williams, Stova’s Chief Technology Officer, has been with Stova for almost 7 years. And why does he love to work with Stova? This is an industry of learning. Stova gets to be on the forefront of innovation in a fast paced industry that’s ever-changing, with a great team with a hands-on approach to event technology.

“What I saw [leadership] bringing to Stova and what has bloomed at Stova is just a great culture of people working together, having a great time, but working hard and delivering for our clients – something really special for our clients and their attendees.” – Carl Williams

This past summer, Stova received a $75 million investment from Sunstone Partners. This investment is positioned to execute on a growth strategy by way of the development of innovative products, expanding delivery capabilities, and enhancing go-to-market strategies to continue to provide market-leading customer experiences. From hybrid, onsite, and virtual, Stova’s team is ready and willing to help you create one of the best event experiences, with metrics to help you keep your stakeholders happy, too.

As I write this, I understand how it might sound self-serving, and that an entire article on why Stova is Great Place to Work certified might not be met with the same excitement our team has for this certification. But this writer truly believes that because our teammates enjoy coming to work each and every day, we put out the absolute best solutions to help you meet your event goals, no matter if it’s onsite, virtual, or a mix of both with your hybrid event. Schedule a demo and find out for yourself, and be ready to see some fun photos in our photo booth feature on our virtual platform!
