June is often associated with the LGBTQIA+ Pride movement, which has come a long way over the past half-century. What started as a protest in 1969 in New York City’s Stonewall Inn has become an international movement of accepting and celebrating diverse identities. This June, the world commemorated Pride month with some inspiring events highlighting how far we’ve come and how much work still needs to be done.
